Research scientist · OpenAI
I am a research scientist at OpenAI, where I work on pretraining. Previously, I completed my PhD at ETH Zürich in the Data Analytics Lab (DALab), advised by Thomas Hofmann. My research focuses on understanding large-scale modern neural networks, from initialization to training dynamics.
During my PhD, I spent time at Princeton working with Boris Hanin and was awarded a Google PhD Fellowship. I also interned at Apple and Amazon. Before my PhD, I earned a Master’s degree in Data Science from ETH Zürich and a Bachelor’s degree from Politecnico di Milano. I also spent two years living in Shanghai.
